As a result of SEL’s focus on quality and continual customer support, the SEL-734 Revenue Metering System’s mean time between failures (MTBF) shows a significant upward trend, presently at 400 years. A 400-year MTBF means that customers using the SEL-734 can expect approximately one failure per year given an installed base of four hundred meters.
Since its inception, the SEL Meter Systems Department (MSD) has invested engineering resources to support the meter support email and phone lines. This gives MSD immediate customer feedback to resolve product issues with quality and manufacturing representatives.
